This year has been good to be. Yes there were challenges along the way and times when I felt like giving up. The truth is that sometimes I get discouraged, but thank God those moments are fleeting. The good moments of 2016 definitely outweighed the few bad moments and God definitely showered blessings over me. Old relationships were strengthened, some were tested, and new ones have been formed. I decided to be purposeful about creating the life I want and was able to achieve many of the goals I set for 2016. I received so much love, encouragement, and positivity this year and I am grateful for it all. I still have a long way to go on the journey of creating the life I want but I know I will get there. For the past few weeks, I've been feeling limited in certain areas of my life and weary truth be told. However I heard a sermon on Saturday about living in your purpose and that gave me so much motivation. I felt so energized, recharged, and ready to tackle my future.

It's easy to be sunny during life when things are going well, but choosing to shine during moments of adversity speaks volumes about your character. Choose to live in light at all times. Even when people, circumstances, and this world try to pull you into darkness. This year I learned that I am powerful, resilient, and stronger than I think. My goal for 2017 and every day of my life is to live a more abundantly and to do so with style and grace!

The outfit: Denim is one of my wardrobe staples and I've been drawn to ruffles and exposed shoulder clothing all year so I naturally gravitated towards this dress. It's cute, comfortable, and can be worn almost all year. Which makes it a winner in my book! I styled this dress with OTK boots to stay warm and elevated in these winter temperatures. It would also look great with sneakers or flats for warmer days. I added my yellow choker and Ruby Woo lipstick for some pops of color.
